I must admit this is from last year. The season could vary (from May - November).
I just noticed that these pictures (taken with Casio) have better color than the other pictures I have taken with SONY. ooooh.

Having "Eastern" in its English name, I always thought this flower originated in Japan (or any other Asian countries for that matter). Actually it was imported from the US over a hundred years ago.
Actually this picture was taken last year (May '07) by the river where my parents live. I don't know the name again. It's quite pathetic for someone who loves taking flower pictures, not knowing any names. Is this some kind of Japanese iris? I know other Japanese irises that are much bigger. It's hard to tell from this picture but this flower is very, very small.
