Big A loves to run in the park. He is not supposed to be off leash by law. I only let him roam around the park when I know there are no other puppies and/or park rangers! Yes, park rangers! Once I got a $100 ticket for having my pup off leash. Ouch. I would never let Ms. Trouble go off leash. She is not trustworthy! She would never come back if we let her run off leash. That would never happen with Big A.
Big A is such a sweetheart but he isn't towards other puppies. When I say puppies, I mean dogs. I have a little problem calling them dogs. Don't ask...
I just found this picture while I was cleaning up my Picasa.
"Big A" loved strolling in the streets of Paris so much. He is looking out the window at the hotel while we packed. Yes, this was the last day in Paris. Can you tell "Big A" didn't want to leave? We've gone back a few times without him, and it's not the same. Next time we will make sure we'll take him too.
She was a cat, she was 18 years old.
We lived and shared our lives together for 18 years.
She went to heaven the day before her birthday.
Replacing her will not fill the void I feel.
I just miss her.
More I miss her I realize she was my precious friend.
My two (furry) babies know when it's nice outside. They don't complain not being outside too much when it's raining. Although it was cloudy today, they couldn't resist being outside in the 74F weather!
My desk is right by the window, and they come up to the window sill and look outside. Then they come up to me (rather to my face!!) and start whining to go outside. They are the cutest! I can't say no to them...
We went out for a good hour to enjoy the weather. When I walk them, I cannot bring my camera. It's just too handful! Two leashes and a camera. Plus I like to spend my time to take pictures so I normally take two separate trips (unless Mr Martini can walk them while I look for my models (flowers)).
Today was no exception. After two trips to Central Park, I was so exhausted. Hhhmmm nice cocktails can perk me up. So Mr Martini and I went to a couple of bars. They certainly did - but when I got home, I was SO sleepy. It was only 7pm!! I took a nap (crashed!). BAD IDEA. Now it's 2am and I am wide awake. Big A always wait for me to go to bed. He is a mommy's boy. He is staring at me from the couch right now, extremely irritated that I'm still up. Sorry, sweetie. But I'm not sleepy at all. I woke up at midnight! Aaaaargh.
Last week, my 18 year old cat, Ms. Grumpy passed away. I don't think she suffered too much. I'm not saying she didn't. The last day which it had become, she couldn't breathe... It was so hard to see her struggle breathing. When I tried to pick her up, she screamed. I think grabbing her chest hurt her really bad. Still being feisty herself, she was quite alert though.
I still dream about her every night that she didn't die, she was still sick but alive. I guess I'm still in denial. My husband said it takes time and I think it will be a long time.
I have an 18 year-old cat, Ms. Grumpy. She was adopted from ASPCA on January 31, 1990. I believe her original birthday is November 28, 1989. But since I'm not certain of the date, I made January 31 as her "official" birthday.
We've been through a lot. When I first got her I was in college. You know how college kids can be. I-R-R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-L-E! I regret to this day that I wasn't good mom to her when she was smaller. Soon after I realized what I have done and tried to make up to her ever since.
What did I do? I didn't abuse her or anything. It's just I didn't care for her like a responsible owner. I was clubbing and got home really late. I just opened a can, and left it in the kitchen for her to eat in the dark. That kind of thing. I still feel terrible.
Anyway my cat is now very old. I try to take care of her but naturally she has a lot of shit that's going on with her life. She's been on IV for almost a year now. She is also taking a medication for throid problem. She's real skinny too. She used to have appetite but she couldn't keep it down. She'd throw up. So I had to also give her Pepcid so her stomach would feel better. Now she doesn't have much appetite. She got a lot skinnier than she was a few months ago. A few days ago she had a nose bleed. It turned out that it was a scratch on her nose that was causing the bleeding but she was also sneezing. That made the bleeding somewhat worse. After she got better with that, I noticed she had a huge gunk around her left ear. I couldn't figure out what it was. It looked like some honey got stock on her or something. I just gave her bath so I was a bit annoyed/confused. It had to happen after I bathed her. Murphy's Law - I know...
I tried to clean it up a few nights ago, and I realized that wasn't a gunk. It was PART of her!!! Oh my goodness, did I freak out! I was trying to pull it off from her skin but it was PEELING the skin off. YIKES!!! Of course I apologized to her. I thought her ear was tearing off or something. Funny thing was I didn't see any blood on it. So I didn't think she cut herself. I was going to wake my husband but it was 2 in the morning. Since he had an early meeting, I thought I should be a bit reasonable.
It smelled soooo bad. It turns out that it wasn't part of her - it was dried-up puss. I guess the puss just exploded. After calling the vet the day after, we cleaned her ear with soap and disinfected it with Neosporin as per the vet's instruction. It worked. This morning the whole gunk came off and her bare skin was showing. Obviously whatever her problem was, took the whole skin and fur off her too.
She is sleeping very peacefully now and seems somewhat content. She kind of looked sick a week ago.
I'm glad she is OK. I thought since she was so old, she was just falling apart, which the vet said very unlikely for a cat's ear to just fall off! We'll keep cleaning her ear for a while to make sure.
