Mana knows Arnott's hurt, but still doesn't like the fact she's "ignored'. The problem with our dogs are, they need undivided attention, each of them... That's really not possible. But they don't care. They just need lots of love.
Arnott still has his cast on his front leg. Well, this will stay on for another 2 months. But he really got used to wearing the cast and "running". The vet said it is not recommendable for him to be too active. I only let him run around on occasions. It's hard when the weather is as beautiful as today. It's hard to say "NO RUNNING!" to his smiley face.
Arnott is getting used to wearing the cast (I think), though he has this look on his face "take this darn thing off from my leg!".
Somehow, when he is walking around the house with this thing on, he reminds me of a pirate - like the one with the wooden leg? It also makes funny noise. At least he still manages to make me laugh. That's a good sign I guess.
Also I have to put books under the water bowl and a little stool under his dinner bowl since he cannot really lean over to eat. Very inconvenient - but he is a survivor!
Arnott was crying and occasionally screaming last night. Hence my sleepless nights began... I guess the leg is hurting. At least he has good appetite which is a blessing.
We took him out for a short walk. The vet gave him a bootie called "MediPaw" to cover the cast. He got used to wearing the cast better towards the end, although he was "carried" around most of the walk.
Arnott came home this afternoon. He looks so miserable... I was gonna cry. He has to be wearing this for three months!? That sounds like forever. They gave him a bootie to wear when going out. I don't know how he is supposed to walk around the park in that.
He's not supposed to get wet. Getting wet is an absolute no-no as there is a chance of developing gangrene... AARGH.
Arnott broke his right front leg... Three bones are broken, and now he is in the hospital with Mr. Martini.
He tried to hop off from my lap and hit the chair leg and the floor funny. Aaah why does a crazy thing like this happen to him?
He was in so much pain, was screaming - his paw started to get swollen too. :-(
The vet is treating him now.
Arnott is a funny boy. He LOVES people, but he HATES dogs. He had a really bad experience when he was a puppy - a mean pit bull swallowed !? his head and I had to rescue him. He was quite traumatized I guess... Since then, for him it's either him getting killed or him killing first kind of mentality. We tried all kinds of stuff to help him overcome his problem. No such luck. He is OK now as long as he stays away from other dogs.
